A Message from Pastor Jim
There are so many messages in our world today which tell us we can get to heaven any way we want. But the verses listed above tell us that there is a need for a Savior and who that Savior is: Jesus Christ. Salvation comes by God's grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. THAT is the Gospel; HE ALONE is the way to eternal life...there is NO other way.
This can be said because Jesus Christ did rise from the dead and proved who He said He was: the Son of God sent to save those who would believe in Him and His atoning sacrifice on the Cross to pay the penalty for sin. Over 500 people saw Him following the Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15: 6); enemies of Jesus also saw all that happened on that first Easter Sunday at the tomb where He was buried (Matthew 28: 2 - 4, 11); and the disciples, who not only all ran away from Jesus after His arrest but were cowering in fear three days after Jesus' death fearing that they would be killed next (John 20: 19), all died martyr's deaths except for John...and no one dies for a life. The evidence is clear that Jesus Christ died and that Jesus Christ DID rise from the dead. And since Jesus indeed DID rise from the dead, our faith is NOT futile (1 Corinthians 15: 20) and we serve a Risen Savior who still is saving today.
That is an exclusive message to be sure and it excludes every other way: there is no salvation by our good works or a well-lived life; there is no salvation in any other religion; there is no salvation by simply going to church or partaking in any sacraments. Salvation is a gift of God given freely by His amazing grace and every person who puts their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior, accepting His sacrifice on the Cross as payment for their sins, is saved. That IS Good News indeed!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, I want you to know that there is still time and that you are not beyond the reach of God's grace. Come to Him now and do not wait; repent of your sins and sinful lifestyle (turn away from them); confess your sins to Jesus; and receive Jesus in faith today along with His sacrifice as the payment for your sins. Then you will be saved. It is the only way.
We hope that you will come and worship the Risen Lord with us where you will hear the exclusive Good News of Jesus Christ preached in uncompromising truth and love!
